
| Abigail Anne Tucker was born on the 22nd January in 1973. She began performing at the age of nine and soon began singing. As an aspiring rock singer, she won the 1992 final of the Australian TV talent show "New Faces" with a selection of classic cover versions. When Heartbreak High was getting off the ground in 1994, she was ideal for the lead role of Jodie, the high-school student who's determined to make her mark in the music industry. What was supposed to be a brief appearance and a couple of tracks turned into 65 episodes and a spot on the soundtrack, making Abi one of the favourites in the groundbreaking real-life Australian drama. Her character’s relationship with Nick Poulos (played by Alex Dimitriades) was a passionate affair, but not without it’s ups and downs. Abi also released a CD single in Australia she had written called ‘Breathe In’ which appeared on the soundtrack. Following her departure from Heartbreak High, Abi took a break from the acting business and spent a lot of time in the UK touring and working on her music. Abi made a guest appearance in Water Rats and joined the cast of Wildside in 1999, playing the role of Kate Holbeck, who ends up marrying Charlie, a character played by Alex Dimitriades. The year 2000 was a more productive year for Abi, as she was to be seen in a few movies throughout the year. Abi appeared in the hit movie The Wogboy a comedy film made in Australia that did extremely well at the box office. Following this is the lead role of May in the movie Angst. She recorded two songs for the soundtrack and movie, ‘Move You’ and ‘Home’. It was released in Australia on August 31 and received rave reviews. In July 2001 year, The Secret Life Of Us, a new telemovie began screening on prime time TV as a two hour special. Following the success of this, the show started filming late this year for a 26 part TV series. It is now being screened in Australia as well as the UK and USA! 2 of Abi’s songs feature in the official soundtrack released by Liberation records. She has also released the double-A sided single ‘Everything/Everybody’ in Australia. The success of The Secret Life of Us continued into the second and third series with rave reviews, and interesting storylines for Abi's character, Miranda. Abi left the show in the middle of the third series to concentrate on her singing career. Abi released her debut solo album 'Dreamworld' on 22nd September 2003 to critical acclaim and went on her first solo tour of Australia.
