Abi's new fame of mind

IN the past, Abi Tucker has been reluctant to use her profile as an actress to further her music career. But, with the release of her second album, One December Moon, Tucker wants to get her music out to the public in any way she can. "I think I've shied away from that in the past," Tucker, 35, tells Insider. "But I'm just trying to be myself and do what I can to make my music work. I love it and I want to play it a lot. It'd be great if it did do something." Tucker has been a regular on our television screens for nearly 15 years (Heartbreak High, The Secret Life Of Us, McLeod's Daughters) but, before getting into acting, she was the lead singer of a Sydney hard-rock band named Damnation. Although she's better known as an actress, her music has featured regularly on the shows she's worked on. One December Moon is being released independently through Tucker's own label, Kellett Street Records. Her debut album, Dreamworld, was released in 2003. "It's probably more personal than the first album," she said of the new release. "This one's much more raw." Tucker will embark on a national tour in November.
